Studio Broadcast Installations at IEK Akmi
Designing and wiring the complete recording studio, radio station, and A-B Roll editing suites for IEK Akmi Thessaloniki.
In May 2005, serving as Contractor and Chief Engineer for KEM Electronics, we directed the full technical installation and hardware wiring of the new broadcasting departments at IEK Akmi Thessaloniki.
Infrastructure Architecture
The project required deploying professional-grade signal routing and power systems across multiple specialized media facilities:
- Recording Studios: High-fidelity balanced audio cabling, patchbays, and sound isolation interfaces.
- Radio Stations: Deployed automated broadcasting equipment, mixers, transmitters, and telephone hybrids.
- DJ Booths & Music Tech Labs: Dynamic audio distribution systems and console integrations.
- A-B Roll Studios: Analog and digital video editing deck synchronization and signal flow setups.
Technical Execution
To ensure absolute signal integrity and low latency, we designed and routed custom cable trunks, shielding audio cables from electromagnetic interference from the high-power broadcasting gear. The project was delivered on time and set a benchmark for media training centers in Northern Greece.
